Berkshire Hathaway Inc, the multinational conglomerate led by Warren Buffett, has announced impressive financial results for the first quarter of the year. The company reported a total profit of $35.5 billion, driven by substantial gains from its investments in common stocks, including the likes of Apple Inc. Additionally, higher income from various investments contributed to the overall operating profit.

The net income for the quarter amounted to $24,377 per Class A share, representing a significant increase from $5.58 billion, or $3,784 per share, recorded in the same period the previous year.

Berkshire Hathaway’s quarterly operating profit also showed a solid growth of 13%, reaching $8.07 billion, or approximately $5,561 per Class A share, compared to $7.16 billion in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

In addition to the positive financial results, the Omaha, Nebraska-based company disclosed that it repurchased $4.4 billion worth of its own stock during the quarter, further demonstrating confidence in its business and underlying value.
